Effective environmental management supports operational efficiency, cost discipline and regulatory compliance across our markets.
Through the responsible management of energy, water, materials and waste, we improve resource efficiency, thereby lowering our environmental footprint and protecting critical natural resources. Doing so also minimises our exposure to evolving environmental and regulatory risks, preserving long‑term enterprise value.
Effective waste management is central to our environmental efforts, supporting reduced landfill contributions, emissions reductions and positive community impacts. Our efforts focus on waste minimisation, the recycling and responsible management of electronic waste, and collaborations with suppliers and operational teams to reduce waste generation across the value chain.
In 2025, we continued to strengthen waste management monitoring and reporting across our OpCos. Waste-related metrics were consolidated through our Group-level sustainability data collection process, enabling improved visibility of waste generation and disposal practices, while several OpCos expanded their internal awareness programmes and operational initiatives to improve waste segregation, drive recycling and promote responsible disposal practices.

While we operate in a relatively low water-intensive industry, responsible water management remains an important practice across our offices, data centres and operational facilities.
To support the identification of efficiency improvements, we have expanded water consumption monitoring across our operations, with reporting covering OpCo headquarters and selected operational facilities. Several of our OpCos have also introduced internal initiatives to promote responsible water use in their workplaces and operational environments.

While telecommunications infrastructure generally has a limited direct footprint on ecosystems, we are committed to supporting biodiversity conservation through responsible operational practices and community initiatives, including through the targeted application of digital technologies to enable enhanced monitoring.
Across the Group, our OpCos continue to support biodiversity-related initiatives that protect local ecosystems and promote environmental awareness in communities where they operate.
Across Southeast and South Asia, our OpCos have undertaken a variety of initiatives aimed at improving resource efficiency and management, promoting circular practices, inculcating responsible environmental practices and more. Efforts in 2025 included:
Conducted Sustainability Week to promote employee awareness on responsible energy, water and waste practices, while introducing targeted technologies to improve waste tracking and water efficiency
Implemented responsible telecom e-waste management and sensor-based water efficiency measures, resulting in increased disposal and recycling of e-waste and improved water conservation across facilities
Partnered with Gomi Recycle to drive single-use plastics recycling and material upcycling, while collaborating with the Ministry of Environment to improve public waste infrastructure
Participated in the Pesta Sayap biodiversity awareness programme with the Malaysian Nature Society to promote biodiversity awareness on migratory bird protection and habitat conservation
Launched the New Home Pass, New Tree programme linking fibre expansion with tree planting, resulting in 22,500 trees planted across seven regions in Indonesia, benefitting communities and creating green job opportunities
