Axiata announces Amrit Kaur as Board Member, appointment to further strengthen Group’s strong corporate governance

We’re pleased to welcome Amrit Kaur to our Board of Directors. Her extensive experience in audit and governance will contribute significantly to the Board's strategic, operational, and financial expertise. Axiata, in our journey towards becoming the Next Generation Digital Champion, will continue to add diverse skillsets and knowledge to our Board. With our current experienced Board line-up, the Group will continue to strengthen our commitment to value creation and operational excellence.

The Board would also like to thank Thayaparan S Sangarapillai for his role as Independent Non-Executive Director over the past nine years, as well as Chair of the Board Audit Committee. His thoughtful insights and numerous contributions have been invaluable, and we are grateful that he will continue his tenure as a Non-Independent Non-Executive Director during the gradual handover period to Amrit.

With her extensive experience in energy, telecommunications and media, Amrit’s appointment adds further strength to the Board as we evolve to become an integral player in the region’s digital and technology ecosystem. We are confident that her expertise in corporate governance, regulatory compliance and financial advisory will strongly support the Group’s continued efforts in high quality reporting and ability to balance sustainable business growth with profitability.
