KUALA LUMPUR – The Board of Directors of Axiata Group Berhad (“Axiata” or “the Group”) has announced at the conclusion of the Group’s Extraordinary General Meeting (“EGM”) today, that its shareholders have approved the proposed merger of the telecommunication operations of Celcom Axiata Berhad (“Celcom”) and Digi.Com Berhad (“Digi”).
The outcome of the EGM by poll vote has been submitted to Bursa Securities (Bursa) as required by the applicable regulations. As shareholders of Axiata have given the nod, the merger moves closer to completion, having previously cleared the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), the Securities Commission and Bursa prior to this EGM.
