Nik Rizal Kamil

Nik Rizal brings deep expertise across finance, investments and capital markets, with a strong track record in leading complex financial and strategic agendas.

As Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Axiata Group Berhad, he is responsible for driving the Group’s overall strategy, operational performance and long-term value creation across its regional footprint.

Prior to his appointment as Group Chief Executive Officer, Nik Rizal served as Group Chief Financial Officer of Axiata Group, where he provided stewardship over the Group’s finance, treasury, corporate finance, investor relations and governance functions, strengthening financial discipline and capital allocation.

Before joining Axiata, he was Group Chief Financial Officer of RHB Bank, overseeing financial strategy, performance management, capital management and regulatory engagement across regional markets.

Earlier, he spent a decade at Khazanah Nasional Berhad, holding senior leadership roles including Executive Director, Investments. During his tenure, he led investment, divestment and portfolio strategy initiatives across multiple sectors, including telecommunications, media and technology, and served on the boards of Telekom Malaysia Berhad and Astro Malaysia Holdings Berhad.

Nik Rizal began his career with the Royal Dutch Shell Group, where he held finance and strategy roles across Malaysia, Singapore and the United Kingdom.

He currently serves on the boards of several Axiata Group companies, including CelcomDigi Berhad, PT XLSMART Telecom Sejahtera Tbk, Robi Axiata PLC, EDOTCO Group Sdn Bhd, and PT Link Net Tbk, providing him with broad exposure across the Group’s regional operations.
