Axiata Announces New Director to Further Strengthen Board Line-Up
Kuala Lumpur, 5 October 2011 – Axiata Group Berhad, (“Axiata”), today announced the newest addition to its Board of Directors, Kenneth Shen, currently an Executive Director of Investments Khazanah Nasional Berhad (“Khazanah”). As a Khazanah representative, Mr Shen joins as a Non-Independent Non-Executive Director.
Mr Shen was formerly with Qatar Investment Authority (“QIA”) where he served most recently as an Advisor to the CEO and a Member of the Board of Directors for Qatar Holding LLC. In addition, he oversaw QIA's direct investments in public and private companies as well as investments in private equity, special situations and venture capital funds. Prior to that, he served in Citigroup Global Markets Inc., Salomon Brothers Inc. and Lehman Brothers Inc. Mr Shen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (Magna Cum Laude) in East Asian Languages and Civilisations (Japanese) and Economics from Harvard College as well as an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
