About the Axiata Young Talent ProgrammeOur objective is to develop the youth of today into leaders of tomorrow by sponsoring academically excellent and well-rounded students in leading academic institutions in Malaysia and around the world. These promising young scholars will be given an experience unlike any other, in the hopes of nurturing and developing them to realise their full potential. There are three components of the Young Talent Programme that students may apply to: • National Secondary School Programme It is our hope that Axiata scholars will be enriched by the uniquely designed programmes offered to them under the Young Talent Programme. Beyond just academics, we believe that their education will make them outstanding and successful citizens, who in return will contribute to the nation. ![]() The Ax-Factor is a programme that helps scholars develop holistically through a variety of weekend and holiday activities which focuses on the following five competencies: 1. AttitudeA good attitude is the foundation of a wholesome individual; it clears the pathway towards the other four competencies. Each scholar will be exposed to an environment with a principle-centred value system, to mould them into ethically and morally grounded, positive, proactive and dedicated individuals. 2. LeadershipScholars will have the opportunity to develop a stronger sense of responsibility and empathy in order to lead and inspire others through various expeditions and community awareness projects. 3. CommunicationThe ability to communicate effectively is important in any relationship. Scholars will be guided to develop communication skills that will include the effective methods of expressing thoughts, both in oral and written forms, as well as the technique to debate and articulate views succesfully. The Programme will also cultivate the ability to understand and appreciate the opinions and perspectives of others. 4. Critical ThinkingCritical thinking is a highly valued skill. Ax-Factor aspires to cultivate the ability to make judgment calls, analyse and interpret issues in a sound and reasonable way, upon reflection and application of knowledge through a logical thought process. 5. CreativityCreativity encompasses the capability to push known boundaries and think outside the box to develop innovative methods and solutions for current and future issues. Scholars will be challenged constantly to anticipate issues as well as to evaluate in different and independent perspectives. ![]() In each year of the programme, scholars will complete activities that comprise of the five competencies. These will be presented in the form of structured workshops, international expeditions, corporate enterprise challenges, community events, mentorship and etc. |
